Contract Project Manager - Data Centre

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

 §  Responsible for project management, project communication and coordination for overall project including project planning, tracking, internal and client status reporting, revenue forecasting, managing scope and change, risk tracking and mitigation

§  Responsible for eliciting and clearly defining client needs for the ongoing operations by assessing and documenting business and process requirements and standards 

§  Performs process analysis, documents procedures, conducts assessment reviews and walkthroughs

§  Works closely with Director of Operations to create the project plan

§  Develop the detailed scope and work packages, then manage delivery of these elements through the project plan and monitor to budget

§  Works with Senior PM to adopt existing Project Management practices and templates

§  Acts as focal point for all project related communication with the client

§  Facilitates discussions and decisions between the client, the Operations project team, and the Infrastructure team

§  Performs review and authorization of all client deliverables prior to delivery

§  Responsible for preparation of weekly and monthly status reports

§  Identifies risk and monitors mitigation plans

§  Resolves or negotiates any changes in deadlines or specifications with client and communicates results to project team members

 

 

Qualifications:

 

.

§  Must have a minimum of 5+ years work experience managing complex technology projects

§  Experience managing medium to large project budgets (> 1 million) (strongly preferred)

§  Previous experience managing a similar implementation of an existing line of business into a new data center would be preferred

§  Infrastructure support background (Computer Operations, Systems Administration, Networking, Technical Support, etc.), able to successfully manage significant infrastructure projects

§  PMP Certification (asset), Project Management training or course work

§  ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification or training in ITIL (asset)

§  Experience utilizing various project management methodologies (required)

§  Experience working on the vendor side to large international financial institutions

§  Experience documenting procedures, strong documentation skills

§  Demonstrated ability to negotiate, build and communicate  effectively with teams, resolve conflict (required)

§  University education with an IT Service Management focus or equivalent experience
