Work with IS and Business management to evaluate user requests, clarify objectives and functional requirements for new or modified computer programs.  Assist in determining feasibility, time requirements, compatibility with current system and system capabilities.
Work with project team to formulate detailed program specifications using analysis and design methodology. Prepares project definition documentation for projects.  Assists with definition and implementation of applications in a multi-platform distributed environment.
Write documentation describing program development, logic, coding, and corrections.  May develop user manuals and operating procedures.  Provide research and follow-up on production problems.  May train users and provide technical assistance to resolve application and operating issues.
Monitor ongoing performance of systems and develop updates or modifications according to business needs.  Work with end users to provide production operation support including system setup and processing and data extraction.  Provide off-hour support with on call rotation.

The primary function of this position is to conduct comprehensive test planning, test and data preparation and test execution on applications that are associated with a major new Billing and Remittance system.  This system includes claims, financial, and payment transaction processing.  The position will include the investigation and set up of new testing tools or software, the configuration of the testing environment, the creation of test scripts, and the analysis and trouble shooting of regression testing problems.  Involves working closely with the business analysts and developers to identify testing scenarios and translate these scenarios into test scripts.  This position requires an in-depth knowledge of testing concepts and as well as a thorough understanding of database structure, SQL, XML and Web based infrastructures.

JOB FUNCTION/PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 
 Planning – Review project needs and determine testing scope and estimates.
 Test case preparation - Review of Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and file layouts for the extract of data from existing systems into the staging area, and the production of outputs financial and payment files from the new system. Verify that all functionality is captured for testing.
 Test Data preparation - Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and DBAs to verify that test data and reference table data is created and in place prior to test execution. Work with developers to execute data extractions and processing.
 Execution of test scripts and test cases to determine that functionality is behaving as per specifications. Performance of regression testing in accordance with a structured build schedule.
 Work collaboratively with other QA members in all aspects of product testing, quality assurance, time management, problem resolution and change management.

Application development activities are conducted throughout the entire project life cycle; from project concept through architecture & design, construction, testing, implementation and support. 

Specific responsibilities include:
